Tung’s acupuncture is a classical system of medicine that is well known for effective pain management. This course will be an in-depth look at Tung’s points for the treatment of orthopedic and neurological conditions. In addition, we will explore the use of topical Chinese herbal formulas for different stages of injury management.

Topics will include:

·      Treatment strategies using Tung’s acupuncture for orthopedic and neurological conditions

·      Treatment approaches for specific disease presentations with case study examples including essential points for pain management

·      New points and Dao Ma combinations from Tung’s acupuncture not yet available in most English language texts and not covered in previous courses

·      Bloodletting for pain management

·      Chinese medical concept of the three stages of traumatic injury and treatment planning based on these

·      Topical herbal formulas for injuries, including soft plasters and herbal liniments

Friday night we will hold an overview of Tung’s acupuncture basic theories for newcomers to Tung’s system. This can also serve as a review for those interested (we will not cover all aspects of basic theory over the weekend). Previous students may attend only Saturday and Sun
