Chinese medicine's ideal as expressed in the classics such as the Huang Di Nei Jing is that the superior physician treats disease before it arises. This tradition of preventive medicine is best exemplified by the Nourishing Life tradition (Yang Sheng 養生). This class will present an in depth look at a rare Daoist version of the Six Sounds for Nourishing Life practice (Liu Zi Jue Yang Sheng Gong 六字決養生功). This version is unlike those that are commonly seen in print and video! This Qigong set systematically works the major Zang viscera, incorporating breathing, movement and visualization. Furthermore, we cover other related practices that stimulate and regulate the channels such as Pai Da (拍打 patting). This exercise is a foundation for self care for practitioners, as well as an excellent exercise that can be taught to patients as an adjunct to other care.
Our instructor, Wang Fengming, is a world renowned Taiji and Qigong master, and a master of the Nourishing Life tradition of Chinese medicine. He teaches internationally and is the author of numerous books and articles on Taiji, Qigong and health preservation methods.
