The Five Transport Points are some of the most commonly points used in acupuncture. However, few modern practitioners have a deep understanding of how important the points are and how to use them in treating complex channel-organ patterns. Books such as the Nanjing even went as far to advocate that most problems should be treated only with these points! Staring with an overview of classical texts, this class will offer a deep analysis of how the Five Transport Points are used in the clinic. We will cover topics such as the Qi dynamics behind the points, how to chose by symptom, how to chose based on time, and the efficient choice of points to accomplish core supplementation or drainage of the channels. We will also discuss Zi Wu Liu Zhu needling – choosing points based on the hours of the day rather than symptom presentation.
